| HEC Technologies is a certified contractor for Applegate Cellulose
Insulation.
Applegate insulation is sprayed into open wall cavities on new construction
and gut-rehab projects. It can also be blown into attics, cathedral
ceilings and closed wall cavities on existing homes or commercial
buildings. The product conforms to the building structure forming a
seamless, monolithic, thermal/acoustical insulation system.
BenefitsThe monolithic system blocks air infiltration and provides a true installed R-value of 3.8 per inch. Applegate cellulose is not prone to deficiencies like gaps, air leakage, wind washing and convection that diminish the laboratory ratings on fiberglass.

Cellulose homes offer significantly better fire protection than homes insulated with fiberglass or foam. Natural cellulose fibers are impregnated with a boric acid and borate fire retardant. Walls filled with cellulose have been tested and approved as a fire block system. The slow burning cellulose helps preserve lives and the structure in the event of a fire.
Fiberglass attics have been shown to lose up to 50% of their performance in cold weather. A cap coat of Applegate cellulose insulation restores and improves the effective R-value.
Ask about our wall system that combines a 1" seal coat of spray applied polyurethane foam followed by filling the remaining cavity with Applegate cellulose. This system combines the excellent air sealing characteristics of foam with the fire resistance of cellulose at an affordable price.
