The elders at BarringtonUnitedMethodistChurch in BarringtonIllinoiswere excited about using their new multi-purpose room for the first time. A
gala madrigal dinner was planned as a grand opening. Unfortunately there was an
unexpected outcome. The room was very reverberant, speech was unintelligible
and the music sounded one dimensional. Complaints from those in attendance made
it obvious something had to be done. Home Energy Control, Inc was selected
because of their knowledge of acoustics, experience with designing trim details
and providing smooth attractive finishes. HEC Technologies applied white K13 FC
Sona Spray in time for the next annual madrigal dinner. The people in
attendance were pleased with the improved acoustics.
Acoustic considerations are often overlooked at the
design stage or they are not addressed because of budgetary constraints.
Addressing the problem during construction is always more cost effective.
